Summary of Job:
|
We are currently seeking
a Forensic Account Manager to
join our commercial team. To provide customer support and account
management for Cellmark’s casework and DNA forensic services
including new business development activities
Identifying any opportunities to further develop business with
existing accounts and working with the Commercial Director and Business
Development Managers to realise this potential.

|
Essential Functions: |
- To deliver the highest levels of account management and customer
service to existing forensic customers.
- To develop excellent working relationships with Cellmark’s
customers based on trust and respect, and in line with Cellmark’s
business ethos.
- To ensure regular (at least weekly) contact with the principal
contacts within nominated accounts by phone and face to face to
assist operational staff to resolve day to day issues, to understand
future customer forecasts and requirements, and to communicate
ongoing performance measures.
- To seek feedback on Cellmark’s performance within each
nominated account and proactively coordinate activities to address
any shortcomings.
- To develop excellent working relationships with scientific and
operational staff throughout Cellmark’s forensics business
and to build an understanding of the various processes and service
delivery issues so that they can be best represented at customer
meetings.
- To communicate, and assist with the collation of regular and
ad-hoc management data and performance reports designed to meet
the needs of each account.
- To lead, coordinate or assist with the implementation of new
projects and initiatives for individual customers.
- To negotiate, implement and maintain an up-to-date operational
protocol and decision structure for each customer account.
- To contribute to achieving sales targets by seeking to maximise
sales opportunities for new and existing business.
- To work with other Account Managers and members of the commercial
team to ensure a consistent, coordinated response to customer
sales and support activities.
- To represent the company at forensic conferences and meetings.
- To identify opportunities for development of Cellmark’s
business particularly in the UK forensic marketplace.
- To work with the Commercial Director in the preparation and
presentation of tenders and business proposals as appropriate
- To keep up to date with legislation and policy decisions relating
to forensic science, policing and the Criminal Justice process.

Job Requirements:
|
Education:
- Preferably a degree or similar in a scientific disciplin
Experience:
- Account management experience - managing a range of accounts
from those requiring a highly technical input to those which require
commercial support and management
- Significant experience of selling into the police/forensic sector,
preferably with experiences of selling services and delivering
growth
- Experience of dealing with public sector (preferably police)
customers
- Experience of working with strategic partners
Technical Skills:
- DNA and forensic knowledge
- Selling skills
- Account management skills
- IT literate and numerate with typing skills
- Presentation skills (at conferences as well as one to one with
customers)
- Ability to manage data and personal administration

- Significant amounts of travel by car, which can be tiring
- Using a computer
- Occasionally working late or starting early to meet the demands
of the job

- Office based or field based but required to visit Cellmark’s
Abingdon facility frequently
- Living within reasonable distance from the nominated key accounts
- Significant amounts of driving
- Regular staying away from home
