IT Support Services Administrator (Entry Level)

Summary of Job:

To provide IT support services to internal and external customers and global operations.

Reporting Relationship:

IT Support Services Manager

Essential functions:

  • First line diagnostics of basic software and hardware issues, including network printing
  • Telephone/service desk support to internal and external customers
  • Provide good and friendly customer service, with appropriate management of expectations
  • Execute standard operational procedures (e.g. system back-ups) correctly
  • Service desk incident logging, follow up and resolution
  • Documentation of problem resolution and operating procedures
  • Installation of computer hardware and software

Subordinates:

  • None

 

Job Requirements:

Education:
  • Preferably educated to ‘A’ level standard with Maths, English and Computer Science/ICT to at least GCSE level.
Experience:
  • This is a position suited to a school leaver who desires to develop a career in PC and network hardware and software support
Technical Skills / Competencies:
  • Basic/good knowledge of:

    • Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (from XP and above)
    • Desktop/laptop hardware, TCP/IP & networks
    • Microsoft and general desktop application software (MS Office 2003, 2007 and above)

Non-Technical Skills:
  • Helpful and friendly customer service attitude
  • Good team player
  • Good personal organisation
  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic approach
  • Good and methodical problem solving ability
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting at a Desk
  • Walking between departments, on site.
  • Moving PCs, and small pieces of IT equipment

 

Working Conditions:

  • Working in an air conditioned shared office
  • Own workstation
